Clean Your Computer Out.
My computer cpu performance has been a bit sluggish of late. Notably so because I’ve been working a lot with video editing lately.
So I decided to start monitoring some of my temps ecetra. I noticed my cpu was WAY hot. Like 85 degrees C hot under a moderate pc load. For those of you who are totally Americanized and didn’t pay attention in science class that works out to around 185 degrees F. That’s hot. At idle the pc was at 70c, under load it would peak to about 98c.
So went out and picked up a can of compressed air and shut the compy down. Blasted it clean of all the dust that had built up on the components. Dear god was there a lot of dust. I don’t have any sort of allergies, but I can smell the dust that is still lingering in the air right now and it’s been 10 minutes.
Fired up my pc. Let it warm up a bit and then ran the cpu maxed out for 10 minutes. My temps now are idle at 39c and under max cpu usage 50c. That is a much happier and safer range for your cpu and pc all around.so if you haven’t cleaned your computer out since you’ve bought it, you might want to consider grabbing a can of air from Walmart the next time you are there and opening it up for a little spray out. Though, it might be best to do outside. It can be VERY dusty in there.
