OMG so much SNOW!
So I’m looking outside while reading this, and there is currently a foot and a half of snow on my picnic table, as well as everywhere else. And it’s still coming down hard. I’ll be going out with my little brother in a bit to see if the snow is of the right consistency to build a snow fort. If so, we shall be making a bunch of smaller forts connected by tunnels all over the field. It shall be EPIC!
On a different note, I started talking to a friend online about the fact that when you grow up, you can’t enjoy snow as much, or rather, as innocently as when you were a child. When we see snow start coming down, instead of just OMG snow let’s go out and play!, we also start thinking Crap, I need to find the snow shovel and clear out the driveway, not to mention it’s gonna be hell to drive in these conditions to the grocery store where I’m gonna have to fight some crazy mom for the last milk and oh look, the dog just tracked a bunch of snow through the house. Crap, crap, crap. A bit extreme, perhaps, but you get the point. But that’s not to say we can’t still have fun. It just takes a bit more work to get into the right mood, unless of course you’re with eager friends/siblings.
Oh, and also, I’m finally finished with finals and have returned home. A get-together with the gang is in order. For those of you on the East US Coast experiencing the snow storms, stay safe and have fun.
