Some of the crew here has started using Windows 7. So far I still feel as though it is an service pack for Vista. But time shall see if I develop a different feel for it. My hopes are that I will. It took me a long while to warm up to Windows Vista and even after a long period of time I still wasn’t as happy with Vista as I had been with XP. Though all things considered I believe Microsoft tends to release good OS’s on an every-other basis. Win 2000 – great. Win ME – horrible. Win XP – great. Win Vista – not so good. Win 7 – ???

With a fresh install I have decided to use this time to test out Google Chrome. I have been using Firefox for a good while and have decided to test the Chrome to see how it fairs. So far it has been pretty nice. I like the built-in task manager within the Chrome browser itself. Also the fact that each tab is it’s own sandbox program makes dealing with problematic sites pretty easy.

Though in the process of updating to a new OS I have found out that my DVD-RW drive seems to be biteing the dust. It has served me well, but this last batch of back ups and prep for the new OS left me with 4 coasters out of 6. Not a good count. Thank goodness for the external drives.

Now to go through the install process. 7zip, Filezilla, VLC, Steam, Impulse, Sins. Time to start downloading the latest versions.
