They’re Back!!!

Finally some more shows worth watching. Or at least viewing via Hulu.

Most are aware that I don’t spend my time in front of my TV to actually watch TV. I use my glorious TV set for viewing movies or playing games. Rarely is there any actual cable program on display. However with Hulu still being a option for the time being I’m able to watch some shows to keep me up with the times. No wait, that is wrong. They aren’t reality shows so I’m still behind. Stuck in a time where acting actually brought something to the show.

With that here is a list of the shows that I am currently watching.

Old Shows Revisited

Well I’ve been watching some older shows that didn’t get much air time back in the past few years.

Two that I’ve come across so far for review being that of “The Loop” and “10 Items or Less”.

First up, 10 Items or Less. It’s like arrested development for a grocery store. EXCEPT, bad actors, bad comedy, bad set…. bad everything. Ha ha. No seriously this was a show I tried to give a chance and it just wasn’t happening. I always give a show 3 episodes once I start it in order to pick up. And well, this one didn’t pick up. It was just punishment to try to watch the first 3 episodes. Overall back round of the show as summed up as quickly as possible by me: X Guys dad dies, he goes back to manage a grocery store, X guy is a moron who knows nothing. Supposed situations with comical tension ensue but fall flat of any actual comedy. It’s like the bad skits of SNL, just kinda feels like filler with no thriller.

Next on the radar, The Loop (Season 1). No idea what network this actually aired on originally but this is actually a pretty good little show. EXCEPT, for the main character. Or I should say the main actor. The show has some great moments and I’ve added all the episodes to my queue. I just wish they had a better actor as the main character. Maybe he’s too soft faced, maybe he lacks manliness, I don’t know. He just seems like a cry baby. One of those kids that goes running to his mommy for every little scratch they get acting like it’s some epic ordeal. Perhaps I’m starting to get to hard on my requirements. Maybe I just don’t care. Standards people, we need to maintain standards.

Now why did I specify just season 1 for The Loop? Because the second season does not live up to the first nearly as much. Which I’m sure is why the show didn’t make it past the second season. The biggest issue to cause the second season collapse? Change of characters. They dropped the two hot room mates without replacement. And changed the main characters boss man and boss lady characters attitudes/mannerisms from the original season. Perhaps it was a director change or something for the second season. Either way, second season is only worth a watch on a VERY slow day. Though still much better than 10 Items or Less.

For the past week or so, i’ve been locked in my room playing games all day. Its finally taken a toll on me as I usually don’t get to play online games in Korea because I want 20-40 ping matches, not 100+. I’m finally getting bored after beating Army of Two, Uncharted, Batman Arkham Asylum, Lost Planet, finding a way to own with the warrior in Fat Princess, Tekken 5 Online, raping Lumines, FFXI, TF2, and the list just goes on and on.

So, today I went and researched things on linguistics. First, it’ll help you learn any language and second I like military sounding words because they sound cool. That opened up a huge can of worms in itself. It has sparked my interest and i plan on reading up on it while practicing Korean. This actually caused me to miss the Jay Leno show tonight unfortunately…BUT I DID SEE CEDRIC THE ENTERTAINER WRESTLE CHAVO GUERRERO! AND HE HAD A GOAT!

I’m still wondering when Hulu or USA will have the Bollywood Homicide episode of Psych. I think Edwin is the only dude to watch it. I also decided to cut protein out of my diet and so far I havent been suffering after working out, but DURING my workout haha. Maybe i should cut the intake to 1/4 of a serving.

Ooooyeaaa, Since Beatles Rock Band was so great, I tried RockBand again, and man..I spent more time making a character than playing all the gay music. Now they might be doing a Pink Flyod one, which will be interesting too. Also, DJ Deckstream is freakin’ sweet, hailing from Japan, he was on Nujabes’ Label, Hydeout Productions. Nujabes is the dude who made the Samurai Champloo soundtrack…and now I feel like watching Samurai Champloo dammit!

Off to watch Ben Stein’s documentary, Expelled: No Intelligence!

Now I Know

Now I know why Edwin like Glee. It’s not really the acting or the show itself. It’s the actor. Err. Correction. The actress. Whomever that redhead is that plays the school guidance counselor is really makes the whole show worth watching.

Sorry Edwin but the show is a bit boring and slow to get through. Perhaps as more episodes come out it’ll get better. But as is it’s just meh. Though I think if they took the singing out it could be a great cast for a comedy.

Fringe is Back!

Sweet mother of pearl. Fringe is back for another season. The first episode is more of a slow starter but the series is a great one to catch. Think I’ll start a watch it now series for the shows as they release.
